For Adventurers

Yearning for something more adventurous beyond beachcombing?

Suggested Itinerary:

Stretch/Walk:

Start your adventure with an early morning fast two-mile walk at Kilchis Point Reserve (just down the street from The Nook) - A beautiful protected natural area with an easy walking flat trail. Enjoy the restored native forest with interpretive signage. Bring your camera for great shots of the Bay. This is also a popular birdwatching location. Allow 60 minutes.

Great Coffee & Light Breakfast:

After a brisk morning walk, take a short drive over to Mana's Kitchen in Bay City - a new favorite with locals and visitors. Amanda's menu is small, but her coffee and pastries are superb. If you want a hardier meal, check out other spots below. Allow 60 minutes.

What’SUP?

How about a Stand-Up Paddleboard adventure with SUP?  Drive north 35 minutes to Manzanita where the pro’s at SUP will provide lessons and excursions of the local and surrounding areas of the North Oregon Coast. Allow 2.5 hours, including drive.

Your reward for a light breakfast:

Afterwards take a walk across the street from SUP and enjoy the amazing food at The Offshore Grill. This local diner creates unforgettable dishes utilizing locally sourced ingredients.  Always consider the special of the day. Indoor and outdoor seating. On your way out, pick up some Sleepy Monk Coffee to take home. Allow 90 minutes.

Feeling crabby?

Go crabbing at Kelly's Brighton Marina just south of Wheeler on Hwy 101. The team at Kelly's will set you up for success, you can rent a boat and gear or simply crab off their 500' of dock. They'll also clean and cook your catch so you can bring it back to enjoy in your tiny house at Sheltered Nook. Allow 2.5 hours.

Say goodnight to the sky:

The Tillamook Coast boasts some of the most magnificent vistas and sunsets anywhere. And I’m not saying that just because I live here, sunsets can be amazing.  Favorites include: Wheeler Marina, Neahkahnie Mountain Viewpoint off Hwy 101 N, Twin Rocks, the Three Graces and the Boathouse on Tillamook Bay.  Or on any beach in the area.

Allow... All night long
